Since March 2007, we operate solely as a computer to plate facility. Since the market trend is to phase out the slower, manual forms of prepress production, we encourage you to continue to learn & refine your computer skills! For those of you who just prefer films, there are still options (however more costly). We even have contacts who can take existing films and turn them into a digital format.
The least expensive and quickest way for a project to get through prepress is to be submitted in a proper digital format. And don't forget, sending us a hardcopy mockup of your project is extremely helpful!PREPRESS
ELECTRONIC FILE TRANSFER RULES
We accept and make correction to files created in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop, and QuarkXPress.
Files may be sent via our ftp site. Please contact your sales representative for host name, user id and password.
You may use standard file compression software to package your files into one file. We prefer Aladdin System’s Stuffit (Mac) and WinZip (PC). If you have any questions feel free to call us.
Please submit your artwork via CD, email or by ftp site. Turn around time begins when all required information has been received and approved. If files are emailed, be sure all ordering instructions are included in the body of your message, along with your information and contact information. Incomplete/improperly prepared files may delay orders and incur a correction fee. We output directly from Macintosh applications:
• Vector Formats: Pantones that are to print process, should be specified as such before saving to these formats. When possible, convert text to paths (outlines).

• Bitmap Formats: When this is necessary images should be 600 dpi. Text should not be part of bitmaps. In almost all cases, exceeding 600 dpi will not help your image look better, and will only increase file size and increase processing time.

• Page specifications:
— CMYK format and spot color printing available.
— All full color work is printed and UV coating applied unless otherwise requested.
— Files with bleeds must add an extra .25 inch to the document.
— Add crop marks showing the edge of the file to ensure accurate copy placement.
— Registration marks, color bars are not required.
We will provide a proof of our output for your signed approval prior to printing the project. We can not initiate the printing of your job without approval.
