SmithPrint Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Opened in 1995, SmithPrint is proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary! Our long success is founded on running a customer-focused business model. We value our well-established relationships with so many corporations, publishers, universities, sports teams, and local schools and businesses.

Owner, Barney Smith, is retiring in this landmark year. Our family-owned and operated business continue under the very capable leadership of sons Matt, Ryan, and Andrew. They have been involved with the print shop from an early age – helping with packaging and fulfillment, bindery work, cleaning the shop, data entry, and more. The eldest, Matt, worked from an apprentice to craftsman and has been the Production Manager for many years. After Ryan’s multiple deployment enlistment with the Marines, he worked his way through college as a Pressman, learning all aspects of the shop until taking on the role of General Manager in 2020. Andrew also apprenticed at SmithPrint through-out college, working as an accounting clerk, IT manager, and evaluating work-flow efficiencies. He is now the Controller and oversees the Office Management including the accounting, taxes, and HR.

Barney’s vision was to create a one-stop-shop that combined traditional print processes with innovative technology. We have grown over the 25 years to offer a wide variety of services including graphic design, personalization strategies, list-purchasing, and mailing services. We were the first to bring an HP Indigo 7900 to San Antonio, and our extensive equipment includes a 6–color, 4-color, and two 2-color offset print presses, an HP Indigo digital press, a large format HP UV Printer, and an array of finishing machinery including letterpress die-cutting.

We will continue to carry Barney’s operational blueprint focusing on client relationships, while fulfilling his vision to provide strategic, creative, production, and print services.
